Deni Shah

Deni is an indirect tax professional with more than 15 years of of experience in rendering consulting, compliance and litigation related services across a spectrum of indirect tax laws. As part of his professional career, Deni has worked in the Big4 Accounting firms viz. Andersen, E&Y, KPMG and Deloitte and was also associated with BMR Advisors. During this tenure, Deni has assisted clients in matters related to Customs and Global Trade, Foreign Trade Policy, GST, service tax, VAT, etc. Deni specializes and provides support inter alia in the following areas:

1. Global Trade and Customs advisory, including assistance on matters related to Foreign Trade Policy
2. Operational issues in international supply chain including automation and use of technology
3. Customs broker oversight and management programs
4. GST advisory, compliances and technology support
5. Health checks, due diligences, risk assessment and mitigation and preparedness for audits/ investigations
5. Investigations/ audits and the entire life cycle of litigation proceedings In the indirect tax space, Deni has experience of working with varied industries such as manufacturing, oil and gas, leasing, pharmaceuticals, financial services, e-commerce, media
and entertainment, logistics (courier/ airlines), hospitality, etc.

Deni also advises Acuity Law and its clients on matters related to customs and other indirect tax matters

Yuto Hara

Yuto Hara leads the AL Consulting Japan desk and spearheads all Japan initiatives through his country networks. Yuto Hara is also responsible for coordinating AL Consulting’s efforts to support Japanese companies present in India or proposing to commence business in India. Yuto Hara has previously worked for five years at a Japanese tax accountant corporation and was involved extensively in tax filings, fund raising support, and management consulting for small and medium sized companies in Japan. He has also worked with a start-up company in Japan for over 18 months as General Manager, Finance department, overseeing all back-office operations of the entire group
